About Me

Greyson Janka

Greyson Janka is eighteen years old, and has been dancing for eight years with the Crooked Tree Arts Center School of Ballet under the direction of Heather Raue. During his time with the School of Ballet, Greyson has performed many solo roles including Drosselmeyer and Arabian in The Nutcracker, the Huntsman in Snow White and the soloist in Peter Sparling's Wake. He will play Clark Nelson in a June performance of Mothra. He has attended summer intensives across the country since 2018. This summer he will study at the Kansas City Ballet on full scholarship. In the fall, Greyson will be pursuing a BFA in dance at George Mason University on a full tuition scholarship. Greyson's choreography, Silent Music, was performed last year at the RADFest 2022 Youth Performance and in 2023 the expansion of this work was performed. The piece was created from images of various black holes, galaxies and nebulae that were converted into sound in a process called sonification. Greyson arranged these sonified images into a musical composition. Silent Music explores the sounds of outer space through movement and shows us that music can be found anywhere.
